MORE INFO
Join us for the debut of Hungarian soprano Réka Kristóf at Carnegie Hall to witness the birth of a new star. In the programme presented by Armel Opera Festival the young winner of the ‘Virtuosi’ talen show performs a selection of favourite arias and songs. She is joined by Swiss baritone Aeneas Humm and internationally reknowned Hungarian pianist Gergely Bogányi.
In he first part of the concert Ms. Kristóf proves the wide scale in both her vocal range and artistic spirit while thrilling us with the dramatic and lyrical effects of Baroque, Romance and Classicist styles. Guest soloist Aeneas Humm completes his partner to make the presentation stronger and more sensual. Their arias and duets are crowned by the heroic Don Giovanni paraphrase by Liszt.
The second part invites us to the exotic world of Kodály. The haunting, folkloristic beauty in his Hungarian contemporary music is followed by depths of Schumann and Strauss songs challenging the performers both intellectually and technically.
At the end, a light musical surprise completes the diverse, exciting musical aesthetics of the evening.
