A one of a kind journey to the era of the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy with well known melodies and dances that have been inspiring audiences for 150 years. World-famous melodies and dazzling period costumes evoke the whirlwind of balls and the fiery dances from the countries of the Monarchy. The polkas, the waltzes, the ‘palotás’ and the gypsy dance are presented by young ballet dancers and accompanied by a live orchestra.

These nostalgic and brilliant moments in music, dance and history are matched with the reality of the pandemic and war presented on photos and film by photographers and filmmakers of the youngest generation, telling a story of the inconceivable events we all faced at the time the production was created.

The result is an encounter between sweet, splendid nostalgia and contemporary ideas, a show that creates a bridge between our past and present to prove that despite all hardships, art, music, dance and the beauty and values of our common European past are an inexhaustible source of joy across all ages.
